All Training Programs (Children & Adults)
All of our training programs (listed below) emphasize the importance of developing and using Mental, Emotional, Environmental and Physical Awareness in order to hopefully avoid physically violent confrontations and conflicts. We firmly believe that the best self defense is avoidance!
Children's Programs
Kid's Safe (ages 5 - 7 and 8 - 12) Seminar (90 minutes) - Parents must attend with children. The parents watch a video about predators & lures while children work with an instructor on how to deal with predators and the lures they use.
Junior (ages 10 to 12) & Teen (ages 13 to 16) Self Defense Workshop Series: These must be completed in sequence.
- Phase 1 - the emphasis is on developing a heightened sense of mental, emotional, environmental and physical awareness. Along with learning about and practicing "recognition and avoidance", students learn and practice basic striking, blocking & evasion techniques.
- Phase 2 - learn and practice methods for releasing and escaping from various holds and grabs (bear hugs, chokes, hammer locks, head locks, hair grabs, and many, many more).
- Phase 3 - learn and practice specific techniques and strategies for situations such as multiple attackers, ground fighting, weapon attacks, car attacks, etc.
Adult Programs
Adult Training (Women Self Defense, Teen Self Defense, Family Self Defense, Co-Ed Self Defense, etc)
The core program for adults (17 and older) consists of 4 training workshops:
- PHASE 1 - learn and practice basic striking, blocking & evasion techniques
- PHASE 2 - learn and practice methods for releasing and escaping from various holds and grabs (bear hugs, chokes, hammer locks, head locks, hair grabs, and many, many more).
- PHASE 3 - learn and practice self defense techniques against weapons (knife, gun, bat, etc).Learn and practice weapon self defense concepts.
- PHASE 4 - Specific training for the environment of the student. This workshop can be adapted to the needs of the specific participant group (flight attendants, real estate, college student, outside salesperson, etc). Learn how to apply self defense theory, concepts and strategies to specific social and work-related environments. Also includes training for multiple attack, ground fighting, etc.
College Bound Personal Safety Training
This workshop includes information and training specifically addressing the situations and circumstances that could be potentially encountered by a young adult heading off to the college environment and way of life. This is ideal for young women. Contact ETS for more details.
Custom Designed Specialty Training Workshops
All workshops can be modified and adapted to meet the specific needs of the participants (Seniors, Real Estate professionals, Airline personnel, Law Enforcement, Loss Prevention, College Students, Hospital employees, and many, many more). We offer custom designed training for the corporate environment, as well as specific and unique organizational and facility needs.
How Do I Host an Event
Want to host a self-defense training for your facility, group, organization, or employees, but you don't know what the interest level would be?
We can help you with our "3 Step Process for Introducing a Self-Defense Program":
To gauge the interest level of a potential group of self defense training participants, we recommend the following 3 step process:
1. Offer a free Lecture/Discussion about the possible program (see description below)
2. Offer an "Intro to Self Defense Training" workshop (see description below).
3. Provide a survey to "Intro" workshop participants in order to gather information and document the interest level for a full-blown self defense / personal safety training program. Let Empower help you design this survey so that enough information is obtained to help us design the specific program that your participants desire and will value!
Lecture / Discussion - customized 45 to 60 minute lecture or discussion about personal safety issues and self defense training, for any group or organization. A common topic requested is "What To Look For in a Self Defense Training Program".
Intro To Self Defense Training - 1.5 to 2 hour workshop that provides interaction (verbal and physical) between the participants and the instructor. This program helps remove the intimidation associated with self defense training. Attendees get a sample preview of what a complete training program consists of.
Proactive Personal Security Self Defense Training - The complete 24 hour program consists of four 6 hour workshops (PHASES). Each workshop covers and emphasizes training in the 4 types of awareness- mental, emotional, environmental and physical - and in the concept of "recognition and avoidance" first. |
