Empower Training Systems offers:

• Self Defense Instructor Training,
• Self defense general public training
• Self defense custom-designed training programs for corporations, organizations, fitness facilities, or any group needing and requesting training.

Program History

ETS founder Tim Rochford began teaching self defense to the general public in 1982. The program was initially named Dynamic Personal Defense Systems. The name 'Dynamic' was used because Rochford recognized that each group of new trainees required a program that could dynamically change or be custom-designed to meet their specific needs and desires. Thus, the philosophy behind the core program was 'born' and has evolved with each new teaching experience faced by Rochford. We, at ETS, believe that our programs will be forever evolving to meet new demands, needs and challenges as dictated by today's and tomorrow's ever-changing society!

Program Description

The current Empower Self Defense program is offered under the name 'Proactive Personal Security' (PPS). The word "Proactive" is the key to our philosophy: Don't wait for something bad to happen - prepare today, for tomorrow. We, at ETS, believe this philosophy holds true for all aspects of personal wellness, as well as personal safety.

Training Methods

General Public Training - Live Workshops & Instructional Books
ETS offers a variety of training workshops that cover various subject areas related to personal safety. ETS has also written, published and released a series of personal safety instructional books for the general public. Instructor Training and Certification - Home Study & Live Workshop

• Option 1 - Live Workshop – instructor trainees participate in more than 24 hours of live training for the Level 1 Instructor Certification.
• Option 2 - Home study and Live Workshop Training – Instructor trainees can complete the Level 1 Certification through a combination of distance-learning and completing a one-day live workshop after successful completion (validated via written exam) of the correspondence course.
